NEW FACES VOLUME THREE

New Faces Volume Three is an artist compilation CD featuring artists from the recording studio at Road Records.

Including 14 bands and singers from Southern California, the 23 tracks include categories of AC, Pop, Dance, R&B, Country, Swing, Tex Mex, Punk, Heavy Metal, Rap and Christian.

There were a lot of firsts with New Faces Volume Three. Our first punk bands were released. Our first uncensored hardcore rap was released, which ruffled a few feathers. And our first Grammy winner performed on the CD, Freddy Fender and Augie Meyers. The producer, Conrad Askland, was touring with him at the time and Freddy was gracious in providing a guitar solo for "Will You Say You Love Me". Thank you Freddy and Augie for your kind acts and friendship!

New Faces Volume Three includes Groove DeVille (Blues), PD Westman (AC Pop), Gailyn Addis (Electronica and Alternative Pop), Jeanne Huber (Euro Dance/Country), Karen Mitchell (Alternative Dance and Pop), Karen Etheridge (AC Pop), Monty Jackson (R&B), Patti Jackson (R&B), Chris Jurado (Country), Conrad Askland (Tex Mex), Headlock (Heavy Metal), Hate Mail (Punk), Elvis Disciples (Punk), Carrie Lynn Kurianski (Swing), Bad Karma (Rap), Paula Sexsmith (Christian Pop) and Marvin E'lite (R&B)

Road Records recording studio has released a New Faces every two years since 1995. New Faces highlights artists from Road Records as well as the extremely diverse production and music composition styles of record producer Conrad Askland

New Faces Volume 3 is NOT for sale by Road Records. The CD is instead used for complimentary special promotions and as a tool for artists to increase their visibility in the entertainment industry.

The Song
"Music is power. Its power lies partly in the ability to manipulate the emotional state of the listener. Properly coupled with lyrics it can be a catalyst for social change. The song from is the mirror of human experience, and as human experience ranges from an ecstatic divine hope to the edge of insanity; so follows the song."

"The song can touch the hem of God's robe or tear at the fabric of social convention. For all time the opposing sides of any fight will create their own battle cries in the form of song; and after the dust clears will use the same form to proclaim their views of love and fellowship. In part, this is the power of the song."

Conrad Askland
excerpt from "The Power of Music"
